± expands supply of electricity generated by its own renewable energy sources (RES) facilities to its assets in Nizhny Novgorod region.
±-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC ±) increased the share of RES-generated power in its energy consumption to 20% by buying "green" certificates for electricity generated by the Belorechenskaya hydropower plant (belongs to ±-Ecoenergo LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC ±).
The additional energy supply will amount to 240 million kWh, thus decreasing indirect greenhouse gas emissions of the Nizhny Novgorod refinery by 120 thousand tonnes CO2-e per year.
Increasing supply of electricity generated by ±'s own renewable energy sources is an important mechanism of the Company's Decarbonization Program.
In 2023, ±’s Nizhny Novgorod refinery received 23 million kWh of green energy generated by the solar power plant located on the premises of ±’s Volgograd refinery.
In 2023, ±’s assets generated 2.12 billion kWh of green energy.
